Recently, the 3000 HP permanent magnet hybrid shunting locomotive developed by CRRC reached about 2000km of safe operation. Compared with the traditional shunting diesel locomotive, the locomotive was highly praised by customers for its outstanding energy efficiency and environmental protection effect.
The shunting locomotive is mainly used in shunting, formation and transfer operation. During the operation of the locomotive, frequent starting, accelerating, direction changing and breaking are required. In the case of traditional shunting diesel locomotive, the diesel engine works at full load for only 1% to 2% of the time. It is in idle standby most of the time, leading to issues like high fuel consumption, incomplete fuel combustion and serious environmental pollution.
After the 3000 HP permanent magnet hybrid locomotive is put into operation, it can save up to about 600L fuel each day, making it both economic and environmentally friendly, thanks to its dual-power “heart” of “diesel engine + large capacity battery”. In terms of energy utilization, the other important technologies incorporated in the 3000 HP permanent magnet hybrid locomotive greatly reinforce the energy-saving process.
